Our west side work area has all services available, we also have full services on the north side of the dry storage where the work area used to be a few years ago. This will serve as a temporary work area until the east side work area is completed, we are compacting and leveling the area.
Work Area
October 6th, 2009Marina Seca services
October 6th, 2009We are taking this opportunity to make improvements at Marina Seca, we are increasing our main water line to more than double of what we had. We are hooking up to main street water supply instead of across the creek bed, this would get damaged almost every rain fall we had. No more!! We are also working with Telmex to install our phone lines underground, all this will be done this week so we can start on the street next week.

Transport Service
October 6th, 2009Our transport low boy has been repaired and we are picking up our first boat after Jimena in Phoenix today. For transport scheduling and prices please contact Melissa at transport@marinasancarlos.com
Rebuild and renew San Carlos
October 6th, 2009San Carlos not only had all services restored in less than a week, we are now seeing improvements. All electrical and phone lines are going underground from La Posada entrance to Tequilas restaurant area.
I’ve lived in San Carlos for 30 years and after every storm I see San Carlos infrastructure damaged and “temporarily repaired” and they never come back to fix things properly. Now I feel things are different and San Carlos will benefit in some way from this disaster. Below is a picture of the conduit being installed next to the highway through the main intersection.
Main street repair..
Almost back to normal.
September 16th, 2009After a lot of hard work and with the support from our family, friends, employees and customers we have regained a bit of normalcy. We now have phone lines at Marina Seca, we also have temporary water supply in the office (a very long hose from the main street to the office). We launched our first big boat yesterday and hauled a new boat to our yard. As they say WE ARE GOOD TO GO!!
As you can see in the picture below the work area installations were washed away, we are rebuilding and will get services back online beginning of next week. Work area will be very limited in space until the west side is rehabilitated, this will take some time so please let us know in advance when and how long you need to be in the work area.

Access to the yard is now open to those who have owners permission to take care of their boat.
Services
September 12th, 2009We still don’t have water, sewer or land line phone. We are hoping to have all three services in the office by Tuesday, we have two clients living on board their boats with no showers or bathrooms. Sorry!! We are working hard to have water and power back on east side of Work Area by the end of next week. Below is a picture of the amount of debris along the work yard, once we remove all of this and check the water and power lines we will know how fast we can get it fixed. We have 22 workers shoveling mud out from under every boat.
Here you see the Telmex workers repairing the phone lines.

Access to Marina Seca
September 12th, 200980% of our road to Marina Seca was washed away.. we are now grading and preparing the street for its new pavement. Boats on trailers we can now splash your boat at any time, the grader will make a temporary access for the small boats and vehicles. Boats on stands, for the next 15 days we will need to schedule in advance boats that need to splash. The temporary road will be to bumpy for large boats, the less we have to stop the machinery to move boats the better, so unless you were already planing to splash your boat we ask that you please wait.

As you can see in the picture below the San Carlos main street on north side is badly damaged, we only have the south side for both lanes. Moving boats will create a bit of a traffic jam until the road is repaired.
Boat owners are welcome to Dry Storage to inspect their boats during business hours, we still recommend that you wait at least another week before coming to San Carlos. But if you are here and wish to see your boat, we’ll be happy to walk you in.
Security
September 11th, 2009We currently have 3 security guards at night on motorcycles to keep the area secure. We received 1300 feet of chain link fence today that we are already installing on south side of new area at dry storage. As the equipment cleans and compacts the area where the fence was we will be installing the new fence.
Adjusting to the situation..
September 11th, 2009We apolagize for the delay in answering emails today, we had to move all office employees from Marina Seca to an empty commercial space at Marina Terra. With no running water, sewer, phone lines, DSL and clean up in the office they needed to go. We had to move servers, computers (the ones we had left) etc.. we are all sharing a 3G wireless card to communicate..
Trailer Boats
September 11th, 2009Kudos to our operators!! Our operators finished moving all trailerable boats this morning from the fence back to their place. All trailer boats have been checked for water and pumped out if necessary, if you haven’t received an email confirming this please be patient we didn’t have our system up and running today. There’s debris on almost all the boats between the trailer and boat, our next step is to power wash all the dirt and branches from these boats. Jesus is checking each boat for damage and will report in detail to each client if their boat has damage.
