By Road:

The four lane highway to San Carlos from Nogales, Arizona is well paved and easily traveled. There is a checkpoint at kilometer 21 in the state of Sonora, where you will be asked to show your passport or birth certificate and photo ID, and will be required to obtain a tourist visa for each person (cost $23.00 USD).If you plan on leaving your boat in San Carlos please take the time to get a 10 year temporary import permit for your boat. This permit has a cost of aprox $50.00 USD and you'll need the following documentation:


- Vessel registration or certificate of documentation
- Trailer registration
- Owners passport
- Owners drivers license
- Cost approx $50.00 USD


Continue through Hermosillo to Guaymas and take the San Carlos exit.

Marina San Carlos is approximately 5 hours south of the border by car.

There are direct flights from Phoenix, Arizona to Guaymas on Aeromexico and America West. Passports or birth certificates and photo ID are required for travel in Mexico. Taxis to San Carlos are available at the airport. Marina San Carlos is around 10 miles from Guaymas.
